GRIDEYE 2003 LIST OF ENHANCEMENTS

(if you did not order a new user's book, the details for each enhancement are available from the Help drop-down on the main menu)

(For all Grideye users: Silver, Gold, and Gold w/ Video)

1. NETWORK READY! You can now access Grideye from any computer on the school network, and add games or view reports from remote computers.

(For Grideye Gold w/ Video only)

2. Digital-video capable. Grideye now accepts feeds from digital video cameras and VCR's. You may also connect your standard VCR via firewire with a device like the Dazzle (c) Hollywood DV-Bridge.

3. New video capture software. We have added improved Video Capture software from TVTI (they are also the makers of the new viewer included with this upgrade).

4. Large/Small video compression. This year's version lets you choose between large and small for your video compression. The large compression is three-and-a-half times larger than your current compression size, which we now call "small" compression. You will get better video quality with large, but it takes up more space on your hard drive and game/player cd-rom's.

5. New video viewing software. Easier and better video viewing!

6. Special note for XP users about making game and player cd's: For reasons unknown, XP doesn't allow you to write directly to the cd anymore. If Grideye cannot directly write to the CD, it creates a folder on your c-drive called GEtempcdF, (if your cd is drive F) and copies all the files for the cd to this folder. You will then have to copy the entire contents of the GEtempcdF folder to the cd (including the folder videofb!). To do this, go to the GEtempcdF folder in Windows Explorer, click Edit => Select All, and drag the contents to the temporary cd folder windows creates. Once all files are in the temporary area, click "Write these files to CD". Be sure to delete the GEtempcd folder before creating a different CD.

7. Any reported bugs since the last version were fixed, and are included in this release.
